I think it’s a great cartoonification..
and I feel compelled to point out that I like the eyes, reminds me of my own Lionheart strips – half lids in most expressions..

Fancy finding the creator of “Crazy Bob” here.
The original comic book is a prized possession of mine. I occasionally lend it to friends, which always leads to the same reaction: “Are there any more of these?”
Apart from that: YAY to the fact that Socks & Barney are continuing!
