Inspired by an Untrue Story

Apparently unable to find any real middle-class, working people willing to support their not-very-friendly-to-the-middle-class policies, they made one up: Joe the Plumber. Joe, whose name is not Joe and who is not a licensed plumber and who is concerned that a business he does not have will be taxed too much if Obama rolls back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans which will only affect “Joe” if his business makes more than a quarter-million dollars after expenses, payroll and re-investment. Got it?

The insanity of the McCain argument culminated in the ad below which inspired today’s strip full of sheep.

It’s hilarious. They are literally trying to transform a bogus stooge into some kind of abstract American icon.

It’s the best illustration of the McCain-Palin campaign ever.

I am Joe’s sense of false outrage.
