God vs. God smackdown

October 14th, 2008

As the Republicans have set fire to the remaining shreds of their credibility as champions of limited-government and capitalism, their remaining supporters seem to be becoming transparently more zealous, bigoted and angry.

TalkingPointsMemo has this gem…

In case you missed it over the weekend, a minister who gave the invocation at a McCain rally in Iowa couched his prayer in terms I’ve never heard before: God’s own reputation is at stake in this election, he said, because so many Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists around the world are praying for an Obama victory that if Obama wins, they’ll think “their god is bigger” than the Christian god.

Let me state the obvious: if your faith in Jesus Christ hinges on the outcome of a democratic election, your faith fails.

The ignorance of some people truly shock me.

The funniest part about that whole thing is the Muslims pray to the same god as the Christians!
