August 23rd, 2008Biden’s speech was surprisingly good given the tough oratorical act he has to follow. He hit McCain a few times squarely – including a reference to McCain’s multple-home storyline – but he knocked it out of the park with this line…
“These times require more than a good soldier, they require a wise leader.”
“Good soldier” is not only a compliment, it’s also a dig at McCain as someone who simply follows orders – the implication being George W. Bush’s orders and the orders of the war-mongering neocons.
