If found, dial 9/11-SURGE

And, yes, that question in the the strip is to point out the fallacy of McCain’s bogus argument that “winning” the dishonorable Iraq invasion somehow grants honor to our military. For instance, I believe that most Vietnam vets have honor no matter what the outcome of that conflict was. Soldiers have honor when they serve honorably. McCain is waging a terribly dishonorable campaign.

Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter sums it up with (found via the terrific site Crooks and Liars)…

[W]hen he resorts to these kinds of falsehoods, and casts such aspersions on his opponent’s patriotism, John McCain is no longer putting his country first. If he were, he would recognize that the interests of the nation require a relatively truthful campaign. To fulfill his image of himself, McCain should stop lying about his opponent. For a man with his claims to honor and integrity, that’s not too much to ask.

Stumble it!
