Tim Russert dead at 58
June 13th, 2008NBC’s host of Meet The Press died today of a heart attack at the way too young age of 58. This is very sad news. He and his work will be sorely missed.

Tim Russert was one of the small cadre of individuals who I truly respected in the press. In moderating presedential debates at one point at my alma mater, he promised if the students were civil, he’d mention their Div III NCAA basketball results in Meet The Press. Not only did he, but he later mentioned when they won the championship!
He was an honest man, a family man, and a man of faith. We have lost one of the greats.
