One-hour wait to vote in Arlington, Va. BIIIG lines

February 12th, 2008

Apparently the lines were even worse earlier in the morning. It was sad to see about a dozen people give up and leave the line as I was waiting.

The long wait did make me think about caucuses. One of the arguments against the caucus format is that it takes an hour or more and nobody has the time for that. I don’t think that argument holds as much weight this year given the greater-than-expected turnouts and long waits.

Glad to see such a turnout and thrilled that, at least this one time, the Virginia primary may actually help determine the candidates.
