Obama makes more than $6 million in just over 24 hours
February 7th, 20081:00am ET: It’s been 26 hours since the polls closed in California yesterday and Obama has raised more than 6.25 million dollars since Super Tuesday. He’s been getting more than $120,000 an hour the past few hours. It’s amazing.
This comes after the admission from the Clinton team that Bill and Hillary lent their cash-strapped campaign $5 million in January. That puts Billary’s Feb. 5 campaign in perspective. They were forced to start spending their own fortune to keep their corrupt campaign alive. They don’t have enough supporters and contributors to pay for their hate mail.
This points back to one of Super Tuesday’s most telling quotes from David Axelrod of Obama’s campaign on MSNBC: The vast majority of Obama’s donations have come from small donors and only 3% of Obama’s contributors have maxed out their contributions. Meaning 97% are in a position to give more. And given Obama’s amazing success leading up to and including Super Tuesday, it looks like they’re doing just that.
Fantastic.
